CONTACT INFORMATION

Travelers Club, an activity led by parents to provide NJHSA students with experiences that enhance their learning and understanding. We plan field trips for different age groups with different learning focus.

A great opportunity for students to get together with friends and to make new ones. Also a great venue for NJHSA families to get to know one another. 

Field trips can take many forms, including visits to museums, historical sites, farms, or other places of interest.

CENTRAL PARK ZOO

The Central Park Zoo is a 6.5-acre zoo located at the southeast corner of Central Park in New York City. It is part of an integrated system of four zoos and one aquarium managed by the Wildlife Conservation Society.

THE FRICK COLLECTION 

The Frick Collection is an art museum on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City. It was established in 1935 to preserve the collection of the industrialist Henry Clay Frick. The collection consists of 14th- to 19th-century European paintings, as well as other pieces of European fine and decorative art.

REGISTRATION is required for every trip.

Each trip has an info box that includes, description of trip, address, date, time, cost and number of available spots. On the top right there will be a dot that will reflect the target grade group.   

For each trip the following buttons will be displayed:

  • Linked website if available.

  • Link to register once the trip is confirmed. First come, first served, if limited spots available.

  • Trip status: if it is a potential and we are canvasing interest, if it is scheduled, or if it is closed.

TRAQUILITY FARMS

A scenic hayride for your group to the pumpkin field where each person receives:

  • Pick 1 sugar pumpkin and 2 gourds

  • Pick 1 ear of decorative corn

  • 1 glass of apple cider

  • 1 Apple cider donut or apple

  • Entrance to the corn maze

STERLING MINES

The Sterling Hill Mine, now known as the Sterling Hill Mining Museum, is a former zinc mine in Ogdensburg, Sussex County, New Jersey, United States. It was the last working underground mine in New Jersey. It closed in 1986, and became a museum in 1989.

LENAPE & THE HERSEY SHORE - SANDY HOOK

During this full-day (4-5 hours) program, students will gain insight into the history of New Jersey’s Native Americans and how they interacted with our coastal environment to survive. Students will get a chance to fish and hunt as the Lenape did, plus “make and take” a Native American inspired craft.
